Bats in your Belfry or Birds in your Barbeque

So I happened to catch something out of the corner of my eye the other day outside. I went outside to find this........
And there was one egg in the nest.  We started watching it and found that it was a starling nest.  The next day there was 3 eggs in the nest.  I found out that it is a Starling and they can be a real problem.  I could not believe the amount of stuff he had packed in there.  What a mess.

We can't leave them there ( I read online that they would be there for 7 weeks uugh) we are having a bbq at our house today so we carefully moved it to a nearby tree... no we didn't touch the eggs so hopefully they will be okay.
{I just have to add...... maybe some of you think that we should have left the nest.. honestly I thought about it but come on 7-8 weeks of no bbq lets be realistic.  It's not that I don't like birds and nature.... we didn't cook the eggs just moved them}

I've had a few people tell me that they've found nests in their grills. That's a pretty impressive one. I'm glad you moved it!

Alicia, they are everywhere. They are building a nest in our yard, and they built a nest in the pitchers bbq too. I have a blog open to invited readers, so send me your email, and I'll invite you. Steph McDonald

Wow! That's cool/crazy. I was at my sisters a few months ago and we looked over and at her neighbors driveway, this big owl flew off....we looked down and he totally laid an egg in their driveway....what are the chances....an OWL EGG?!! So they called the animal people to come get it so they didn't touch it.

I would have moved the nest if I were you too....yeah, no BBQ's...come on!!

We had a bird making a nest in our BBQ as well. He/she hadn't made it as far in the nest building process, but we cleaned it out and the very next day he was back at it. We had to put duck tape over the holes in the BBQ so he couldn't get back in there. One day I saw him trying to pull the tape off. Crazy..

Okay, we also had a starling nest but it built it's nest up in our attic above the deck. We moved the nest, but we were told that they would abandon the eggs. We were also told that they were pests, so I don't feel too bad. And the nest was huge!

Sorry I think we pushed them to your house :) They were building one in our grill about a month ago. We moved it to a tree before it layed eggs, but it didn't come back.
