Prepared

Last night for FHE we finally got our 72 hr kits together (I do have a few minor things to get) but if feels so good to have it done.  It has been nagging at me for quite a while.  I was impressed how well the kids listened and put their packs together.  We tried to cover everything we could without scaring them.  Sweet tender-hearted Porter fought back the tears every time we talked about getting separated from each other or if he was at school when something happened it broke my heart.  When we were all done and getting ready for bed Porter came down with his little red Book of Mormon and said he wanted to put it in his back pack.  I tried to explain that he would need those to read and we would find another set.  Brian told him "Dad will make sure to have some in my pack for the whole family"  Porter really really wanted them in his.  I found him one I use for travel and let him put them in his pack he was so glad.  It amazes me just when I think that I am not getting through to my children (or one in particular) that they show me what great spiritual children they are and that to my surprise they do listen.  It was a great night that all ended with them saying their own prayers asking Heavenly Father to help them be prepared and not be afraid.  Yeah finally a night where I didnt go to bed feeling like a guilty mom and all the things that I should have done today that is a great feeling.

I am so grateful that we have a living Prophet to guide us and help us to be prepared for what ever is in store for us.  I love being able to feel that peace and not fear.

If money were not an option!!

I love fall clothes!!  I also love that my birthday is when they start putting all the fall clothes out!  That is usually what I want.  If money were not an option I would buy this outfit it is so cute, or at least the cardigan! I could probably only afford one button.   Anthropologie has the cutest clothes just not cute prices!!!

UNO anyone?

My kids were introduced to UNO last weekend by their friend DJ.  They are obsessed with playing it!!  If I would have realized sooner that it could occupy so much of their time I would have bought it long ago!   Even Wyatt can play it!!

Hooray

So I FINALLY figured out what was wrong! I guess if any of your pictures are too big on any post on the page it will bump your elements down to the bottom. To figure it out you have to view each post separately. The weird thing is it was my 4th of July post and it didnt do it until today. Now there is something wrong with adding pictures so I will have to fix it later, thanks Jen and Cassie for trying to help me

What the heck!!!

So something has happened to my blog!!  I can not for the life of me to get my page elements back on the right hand side of my page!!  They are at the bottom anyone HELP!!  It is driving me crazy

More firework fun!

We went to the annual Linquist and Weber State firework display last night.  It is usually not so close to the 4th of July so I wasn't as excited about going.  Aunt Kristi found us some great spots to sit.  The kids had a great time playing uno and with each other.  We ate way yummy food and relaxed and visited with each other.  Now this is normally a prime people watching event!!  Not the weird nutty people but the teenage and college age kids.  Oh the outfits the girls breakout.  You would not believe the amount of girls who klunck around in their 5 inch heels up and down the steep roads on the prowl and dressed to impress.  It is quite amusing.  We all get a kick out of it.  Unfortunately this year half of the grassy hills were being dug up so we did not get to enjoy the fashion parade!!!  It was still fun.

We really should stay home!!

We just got back from Monte Cristo, our great friends the Purser's invited us up to their cabin.  It was a great time with some other families in our ward.  All the boys decided to go on a little 4 wheeler trip and they took some of the kids with them.  They were back quickly because all the little ones were not really enjoying the mouth fulls of dirt.  Brian decided to go for a quick ride and said he would be back in about 30 min.   I wasnt completely comfortable  with him going by himself but he did have a GPS walkie with him.  Well after the first hour I started to get nervous and tried to reach him on the walkie talkie with no luck.  The other men just thought he was having a great time riding around.  Sooo going on the third hour I was very worried all sorts of thought run through your head.  Finally we heard someone on the radio saying his name, and got a hold of him.  He was on the other side of the mountain and did not get reception.  Kobe being a fire fighter told me he was just fine and he was going to get him, you know when you have that feeling that they are not telling you the whole story, but they left quickly.  So I got on the radio and got a hold of Brian he had rolled the wheeler 15 min into his ride and lost his radio and the wheeler had tumbled quite a ways down the hill.  He had been up there for a good 2 hours not being able to find his radio.  Luckily, some guys came riding by and Brian yelled to them.  I did not enjoy the many feelings you go through when stuff like that happens!!  So grateful that he only walked away with a few scratches.   Soooo sorry about the Pursers 4 wheeler!!  We will make it right!!   Thanks so much to Kobe, Heather, the Robbins and the Moons for helping us.  We did have a great time, but we will know why we wont be invited next time!!!  =)  We need to stay home and get away from all of our exciting trips!!

Let Freedom Ring

So we have had quite the busy 4th and had a lot of fun. I know I said I loved the fourth of July, I hope no one expects some huge extravaganza. It is just a day that I think is the best! So this year the city of Kaysville did not let any one put any chairs out for the parade until July 3rd. I thought I would be sneaky and just go at midnight on the 3rd, so did everyone else, luckily we found a good spot.
Brynleigh and I woke up and went to set up a canopy at 6am ( what a nice girl to go with me) then we headed off to golden corral
I know you are all jealous right now but it is the only place that you don't have to wait forever for a table for all 20 of us! Off to the parade! I need to vent for a minute I get so mad at people who show up 30 minutes before the parade and expect to find a spot!! Where do they end up, 3 familes came and sat in our spot soo annoying get there early people!!!! The kids love the parade there is mostly trucks advertising but they all give tons of candy so they don't care!! We got into a little fight with some people next to us too long of a story to tell but all is well!! The best part about Kaysville parade is the huge water fight at the end.
If you don't want to get wet you had better leave no place is safe. They have the big water tankers spraying tons of water everywhere and truck loads of kids with huge water canons it is a blast. Unfortunately 2 kids fell of the trailers and got run over. Life flight came and they ended the parade. I did hear that they were both okay so that is good. We came home for a little R & R before going to Layton. We always go to layton fireworks mostly for the people watching. Is that horrible? It seems as all the wacko's come out of the woodworks on the fourth. I think they are all hiding at walmart the rest of the year!! We ate yummy food took family pics, aunt Kristi painted our faces. We had lots of fun as usual. Watched the fireworks and went home exhausted!! will add more pics later!
